The Cándido Family Group was formed in 1989 with the creation of the Pórtico Real, as a natural evolution of the Cándido family’s passion for gastronomy and tourism. This business group encompasses various initiatives that share the same commitment: preserving Segovian tradition and offering unique experiences through hospitality and cuisine.
The group is made up of the emblematic Mesón de Cándido, internationally recognized for its roast suckling pig and for being the most famous meeting place in Castilla y León; the Hotel Cándido, a luxury space that combines comfort and tradition; the Royal Portico itself, an extensive center for events and celebrations; the Finca de los Jazmines, an exclusive place where nature and elegance combine to offer an ideal space for outdoor events; El Mesoncito, a gastronomic home delivery service that complements the Mesón’s offering; Cándido Gastronomic Academy, a project that seeks to transmit culinary knowledge and the values of Segovian cuisine to future generations; and the Cándido Mesonero Mayor Foundation of Castilla.
Currently, these businesses are managed by the grandchildren of Cándido López, who have assumed the leadership of the Cándido Family Group with the commitment to keep alive the tradition that has been bequeathed to them.
