Our mesón
Our house, opened in 1786, is an emblem of Segovia located at the foot of the Aqueduct. This historic building has become an international gastronomic reference thanks to Cándido and his famous roast suckling pig, consolidating a culinary tradition that has lasted for more than a century.

Cándido López is known not only for his mastery in cooking, but also for his work as the main promoter of Castilian products at an international level. His dedication and commitment to the quality of roast suckling pig led him to become an ambassador of Castilian gastronomy throughout the world, managing to put this delicacy on the international map.
A. Cándido
Alberto Cándido is the direct successor to the legacy of his father, Cándido López. After Cándido’s death, King Juan Carlos I formally granted the title to Alberto, naming him Chief Innkeeper of Castile after more than 70 years of professional experience, thus consolidating the family legacy in the tradition of Segovia’s restaurants.
Cándido, the 4.ª generation
Cándido López, grandson of the famous Cándido, entered the world of catering at a young age, learning directly under his grandfather’s tutelage. He currently successfully runs the Mesón de Cándido. Under his leadership, he has managed to modernize and professionalize the establishment without losing the traditional essence that made it famous.

Angelines
Angelines, wife of Alberto Cándido López, has followed the family tradition at the Mesón de Cándido, taking a fundamental role in the administration of all the businesses of the Cándido Family Business Group.
Today, at 91 years of age, he continues to take an active role in the management of the family business, becoming an essential figure in the house and one of its main emblems.
Patro, the 2.ª generation
Patrocinio, known as “Patro”, was the wife of Cándido López. In his memoirs, Cándido spoke of Patrocinio with great admiration and affection, describing her as his inseparable companion and a fundamental pillar in his life and in the success of the inn.
Their collaboration was crucial to the prosperity of the family business, giving rise to the current legacy that the Cándido family has inherited.
